Research integrity: attending training – in-depth training (dilemma training)
Adhering to the principles of research integrity is crucial for the quality and reliability of research. To take on that role in a conscious and proper way, developing your research skills (and thus following training) is very important.
For this reason, Ghent University offers training for all its employees, ranging from basic training (online) to in-depth sessions (dilemma training).
In-depth training: dilemma training research integrity
What?
On the course day, researchers are challenged by real-life cases, to think about possible integrity issues related to daily research practice.
Under supervision, you learn to recognise sensitive situations.
In small groups, you explore and discuss in depth the various options for dealing with them and share experiences.
You will receive applicable advice and experience an increase in your confidence to deal with such issues in your own practice.
If you would like your own case discussed in the training, anonymously, you can submit it no later than 5 days before the training day via Stefanie.VanderBurght@ugent.be.
Preparation: Participants go through modules 1 to 4 of the online training tool Mind the GAP in order to become familiar with the basic concepts and knowledge used in the in-depth training. (Ufora: course/451494). This task is completed by the start of the course day.
For who?
This training is aimed at researchers, administrative and technical staff (ATP) involved in academic research, and students who have an affinity for research.
