EndNote: adding and marking up PDFs
Add PDFs atuomatically
- Open Athena and then EndNote.
- Select the references to which you want to add a PDF.
- Click "References" > "Find full text" > "Find full text". OR right-click and select "Find full text".
- EndNote will now look for PDFs Ghent University has electronic access to and add them.
Add PDFs manually
- Open Athena and then EndNote.
- Select the reference to which you want to add a PDF.
- Click "PDF" in the right-hand column.
- Click "Attach PDF" and select the PDF in the popup window.
Mark-up and notes
You can highlight, underline, cross out text and add comments to PDFs in EndNote. To do this:
- Open Athena and then EndNote.
- Search for the reference with the PDF you want to mark-up.
- Double-click on the reference to open th detail page and then click the tab "PDF".
- Click the underlined "U" to see your mark-up options:
- Adding a comment with the text bubble;
- Highlighting words with the highlighted "a";
- Underlining with the underline "u";
- Striking through with the struck "T".
- Select the text you want to mark and then select the type of mark-up.
- Don't forget to save!
