Westlaw UK, a legal database of Thomson Reuters, provides access to case law, legislation, news, legal journals, commentaries, topical alerts and UK legal materials. It also contains a selection of materials (e.g., case law, legislation) related to the EU. In Westlaw UK, some of the 'International Materials' from the Westlaw database (relating specifically to the UK and EU) are repurposed in their own interface.

In Westlaw Books you will find a selection of books, mainly from the publisher Sweet & Maxwell.

Searches

Using the search bar at the top, you can start a search on Westlaw UK using keywords. Suggestions of publications, journals, related search terms, etc. will automatically be made. Under the 'All content' button next to the search bar you can immediately filter by content type and topic.

When reviewing your search results, you can further filter by content type, topic, jurisdiction and date, or search your results to refine your search.

Below the search bar on the home page, you can browse content by topic. At the top, you can go directly to a specific content type (e.g., journals).
